Pressure Grouting
Pressure grouting or permeation grouting is a ground improvement or soil stabilisation technique. It consists of forcing a material (grout) under pressure, so as to compress soil and or fill voids, joints and other defects in rock, concrete, masonry and similar materials.
Pressure grouting can be a very economical solution for subsidence, especially if the subsidence has been caused from an escape of water. Pressure grouting as a subsidence repair technique is only suitable in certain circumstances and careful site investigations are required before this solution can be adopted.
There are a wide range of operations where pressure grouting is applicable
- Soil stabilisation underneath structures after escape of water.
- The strengthening of non cohesive soils.
- Bridge / key wall strengthening.
- Void filling.
